Awards Night May 10, 2008 The student exhibits showed all the hard work our homeschoolers have put forth this past year. All families in attendance enjoyed the potluck dinner and opportunity to spend time with other families who share in the joy of homeschooling.
The performing students were outstanding and a pleasure to watch. We all enjoyed the karate demonstrations, poetry, voice, piano and violin perfomances. It truly was a wonderful night.
Holy Thursday Play During Lent the Catholic Alliance group presented a play The play gave the children in the audience the opportunity to witness the apostles First Communion! Through the Last Supper Jesus gives us new meaning for the Passover meal. First, He washes the disciples feet. He, their Lord and Teacher, washes their feet! Jesus does this to teach us how to love and serve (help) each other. Instead of eating lambs and bitter herbs, we now have the host in Holy Communion. The host looks like the unleavened bread, but when Jesus blessed it, it became His body and blood. Each time we receive the host at Mass we are receiving Jesus. Instead of plain wine to drink, Jesus gives us His blood when we receive Holy Communion. Jesus comes to live in our souls!
